Description:

This is an example of a WWII K43 rifle that was produced at the Walther factory in 1944. Hooded blade front and tangent rear sights, with a rough cast and machined receiver marked "K43" and "ac/44" in a milled panel on the side. The bolt carrier is fitted with a reinforcing web, hollow cocking handle and a right side catch. Matching numbers are stamped on the receiver and carrier, with electro-penciled matching numbers on the bolt lugs. Fitted with a smooth pistol grip stock marked with a faint "WaA" stamp on the right and fitted with a cupped trapdoor buttplate. An extra firing pin and dust cover retention bolt are also included.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 85% of the original phosphate/blue finish, showing some mild spotting and handling marks on the receiver and dust cover, and 85% of the original phosphate finish, with bright edge wear and handling marks. Heavy turning marks are present on the trigger guard screws. The stock is fine overall, with some mild dings and scuffs, but the buttplate has taken a notable hit on the right side, denting the plate, chipping the interior of the compartment, and cracking the opposite side. Mechanically very good.
