This is a fine example of a late 1944 dated WWII British Enfield No. 4 MK 1(T) sniper rifle that is fitted with a No. 32 MKIII scope and mount. These rifles were the standard WWII British sniper rifle, used until the early 1960s. The butt socket is marked "M47C/1944/B34692/TR". It has a black wartime finish with a walnut buttstock, forend and handguards. The comb of the stock is fitted with a hardwood replacement cheekpiece held on with two wood screws. It has the standard blade front sight with a "S" marked MkI rear sight. The buttstock has the correct British acceptance proofs along with the "S51" stamping behind the pistol grip area indicating it was converted by H&H with the scope number "17933" stamped on top of the wrist. The underside of the forend is stamped with serial number "B34692" along with several small British proofmarks. It is currently fitted with a No. 32 MKIII sniper scope that is marked "TEL. SIG/No.32 Mk.III/O.S. 2039A/AK &S No 17933/1945", and it has the standard post and cross-hair reticle pattern. The side of the mount is stamped "JC" and it is numbered on the rear with "B34692". The top and bottom half of the scope rings are stamped "56 and 57". This sniper rifle is complete with one original box magazine, that is stamped with serial number "34692".

Very fine with 90% of the wartime black painted finish overall with edge and high spot wear with thinning on the barrel bands and trigger guard bow. The scope and mount retains 60% of their very thinning blue finish overall with the balance a brown patina, with fine pitting on the ocular end of the scope with 60% of the black paint remaining on the front end. The optics are clear. The wood components are all in very fine condition with a nice medium brown color overall showing minor handling marks and light pressure dents on the sides and underside are areas with some scratches on both sides of the buttstock.
