This is an excellent and scarce 1935 dated WWII German Nazi Army "G" date, S/42 code Luger pistol. This series of Luger has the rust blued finish with the straw colored small parts. The "G" dated Lugers were produced in only the second year that Mauser was using the secret, single letter code to hide the rearmaments build up from the rest of the world. The top of the chamber area has the single letter "G", which denotes 1935 as the year of manufacture. The toggle link has the correct "S/42" code mark for the Mauser factory, and the right side of the barrel extension has the early "drooped-wing eagle/ 63" Waffenamt proofs next to the single eagle firing proof. The right side of the barrel and left side of the breechblock also have the same eagle firing proof. The full serial number and bore diameter markings are on the underside of the barrel, with proper "GELADEN" and "GESICHERT" markings on the extractor and upper safety position. This Luger is complete with one unmarked, nickel-plated magazine with the aluminum base that is marked "3247i+" over a single "eagle 63" proof.
