Manufactured in early 1942 on contract for the U.S. government. Standard blade front and fully adjustable rear peep sights with a "BATTLE RANGE" marked elevation drum, Winchester barrel with the "WP" proof on the chamber, and "W.R.A." marked bolt, trigger guard, hammer, safety, trigger housing, and operating rod. The stock is unmarked with the exception of a single circled "P" proof on the underside of the wrist with an early style checkered solid buttplate without the trapdoor.
Fine. 85% of the dark parkerized finish remains with some areas of edge wear, cycling marks on the bolt and receiver, and handling marks. The internal receiver (opposite the operating rod) exhibits extensive polishing with no finish left. The lightly sanded, reoiled stock is absent inspection marks, and the butt is routed for a trapdoor buttplate, but is otherwise fine with some small scattered dings. Mechanically excellent.
