One of only 2,020 manufactured c. 1837-1840 at the Harpers Ferry Armory in percussion configuration. Standard markings and features to include sliding triangular bayonet. Dated "1839" on the breechblock.
Very good plus with scattered areas of original brown (strongest on the rear barrel band and buttplate), faint patterns of case colors visible on the breech, gray and brown patina on the balance, patches of mild pitting, a replacement bayonet, some small chips in the otherwise fine stock, and scattered dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.
