Description:

The Model 1895 was designed by James Paris Lee of Lee-Enfield fame and manufactured by Winchester. This first contract example was delivered in 1897. Standard markings and features including the "U.S.N./anchor" and "-N.C.T.-"(Lieut. Nathan C. Twining) Navy marks.

Rating Definition:

Fine with a dark blend of 75% original blue finish, oil, and brown patina; some minor marks and oxidation, and generally distinct markings. The stock is very good with a an overcoat of protective oil based finish, numerous scattered dings and scrapes, and some small chips. Mechanically excellent.
