Description:

Manufactured in the antique 1898 serial range (under 152670) with standard markings and early features (such as the 1896 style rear sight), an "1898" dated cartouche, Mills canvas sling, brass muzzle/front sight cover, and takedown cleaning rod in the butt of the stock.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 75% original blue and casehardened finish, brown patina, minor scratches, and mild oxidation/pitting concentrated on the buttplate. The re-oiled wood is fine with a crack in the handguard behind the rear sight, a few small chips including at the toe and bolt handle, distinct cartouche, and some light scratches. Mechanically excellent.
