Description:

Around 50,000 of these carbines were manufactured between 1863 and 1865 for the Union Army. Spencer carbines are easily one of the most advanced and popular weapons of the war and remained important in the Indian Wars of the later half of the 19th century, especially prior to the widespread adoption of the Springfield trapdoor. This one has the standard markings and features.

Rating Definition:

Good with mottled gray patina, some mild pitting, and general scattered marks and dings. The lightly sanded and re-oiled wood has faint cartouches, scattered small dents and scratches, and some chipping and a hairline cracks on the left rear of the forearm. Mechanically fine.
