Description:

The U.S. government recorded purchases of 226,924 during the Civil War and the Confederacy may have purchased upwards of 100,000. Dated "860" (1860) on the lock. "BENTZ" is marked on the top of the barrel. Includes a socket bayonet with leather scabbard.

Rating Definition:

Fine overall with mostly brown patina, some oxidation, mild pitting mostly at the breech, and general scratches and dings. The wood is also fine. Mechanically fine. The bayonet is in similar condition to the rifle. The scabbard is very good with moderate wear.
