Civil War Era Austrian Model 1854 Lorenz Percussion Rifle with Bayonet and Scabbard

The U.S. government recorded purchases of 226,924 during the Civil War and the Confederacy may have purchased upwards of 100,000. Dated "860" (1860) on the lock. "BENTZ" is marked on the top of the barrel. Includes a socket bayonet with leather scabbard.

ConditionFine overall with mostly brown patina, some oxidation, mild pitting mostly at the breech, and general scratches and dings. The wood is also fine. Mechanically fine. The bayonet is in similar condition to the rifle. The scabbard is very good with moderate wear.
