Hooded blade front sight, with a fixed stamped sheet metal steel notch fixed rear sight in place of the conventional rear tangent on a barrel unmarked except for an "eagle/swastika" stamp. The receiver is marked "Mod.98/swp45" and fitted with a hand-numbered rough machined bolt guide rib. Smooth pistol grip stock, with a stamped trigger guard and "byf" floor plate, a faint "eagle/H" Army stamp on the right side, and a cupped bright steel buttplate.

Very fine with 85% plus of the rough original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, mild scratches and scattered handling marks, 90% of the phosphate gray finish on the barrel bands and trigger guard assembly, showing similar wear. The stock is very fine with mild scuffs and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Bolt is mismatched to receiver.
