Imported in the late 60s and early 70s, the G Series FAL was first approved for import by the ATF, then declared a machine gun by the ATF, and finally banned from import, with the ones already in the country being given a pass. This rifle is within the correct range listed on page 23 of the ATF C&R book. Post front and military tangent peep sights, with a long flash hider/bayonet lug, and an adjustable gas port with grenade setting. The upper receiver bears the one-line Herstal address and "F.A.L. cal.7.62". The serial number is on the underside ahead of the magazine well. The lower receiver is marked "S/ R/ A", with a pin inserted to lock out the "A" spot. With a ventilated handguard, smooth grip, and smooth buttstock with a stamped serrated buttplate. With canvas sling and shipping box.
Excellent overall. 99% original black finish remains some scattered light handling and cycling marks, and a few small pressure marks on the wood. Mechanically excellent. The G series FALs are difficult to find, even more so in this excellent condition.
