Description:

This is an excellent example of a late commercial production Model 1928 Thompson Submachine Gun manufactured by the Auto-Ordnance Corporation of West Hurley, New York. These SMGs can be easily identified by the "A" serial number suffix as being produced circa 1970s by the Auto-Ordnance Corp. a division of the Numrich Arms Corp. These new production weapons retained many of the earlier original style parts such as the blued finned barrel, Thompson-Cutts style compensator, vertical fore grip, detachable buttstock and adjustable ladder rear sight. The left side of the receiver is marked "U.S. MODEL 1928/No.2504A" followed by "THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN/CALIBER .45MI". The right side is marked "AUTO-ORDNANCE CORPORATION/WEST HURLEY, NEW YORK, U.S.A.". This desirable weapon has an all walnut stock, vertical fore grip and pistol grip and the later brush blued finish. It includes two 50 round drum magazine, three stick magazine, a cleaning rod and a reproduction black leatherette FBI style storage case.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98% of its blued finish overall showing only minor edge and high spot wear overall with signs of light firing. All the wood components are in excellent condition with a nice matching medium brown color overall with few visible handling marks on the sides. The accessories and case are all in excellent condition. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
