Receiver marking is unique style in that there is a separation between "U.S." and "RIFLE"/"CAL" and ".30 M1". The aforementioned is referred to by collectors as "Gap Letter", indicating Springfield Armory manufacture. "T9/F6528291" drawing number on right forward top of leg, internally marked. Blade front and adjustable peep rear sights, with "DRC IHC" marked windage drum and "IHC" elevation drum. "Square" pattern receiver heel markings, with International Harvester bolt, trigger housing, hammer, and operating rod. Barrel is marked "LMR" and dated "5-55". Smooth pistol grip stock, with a circled "P" on the grip, Department of Defense cartouche on the left side, brown leather sling and a checkered buttplate.

Excellent, with 95% plus original parkerized finish, showing some bright cycling wear on the receiver and bolt, light scratches on the gas cylinder, and mild handling marks overall. A few small white paint dot sight adjustment 'witness' marks have been added to the windage drum and receiver heel area. The stock is very fine with some dents on the left side of near the bolt catch and on top of the handguard, along with some other light pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
