Description:

The Model 1763/66 muskets were among the most common firearms used by the American rebels during the Revolutionary War and served as the basis for the first U.S. martial muskets. This example has standard markings and features and includes a socket bayonet and was formerly in the Peter Albee collection.

Rating Definition:

Very good with an out of the attic as found appearance. It has a dark brown patina, moderate oxidation and pitting, missing tip from the front band spring, and some small chips on the buttplate. The stock has some gaps around the lock and some overall surface scratches and dings. The lock does not hold properly at full cock. The bayonet is bent and closely matches the condition of the musket. Overall a very attractive musket of the pattern widely used in the American Revolution.
