The receiver features splashes and wedges of fine scroll engraving with "SPENCER ARMS Co./PAT. APR. 1882" on the right side and a small dog head on the left. The triggers are a bright nitre blue Fitted with first style short checkered walnut slide handle and pistol grip stock with checkered hard rubber buttplate. Stock measurements are: drop at comb 1 7/8 inches; drop at heel 2 1/2 inches; length of pull 13 1/2 inches.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel and magazine tube have a mostly gray patina with 60% Damascus and twist patterns, some small dings and scratches, and some darker brown spots. The once case colored receiver has a mostly crisp silvered out gray patina with muted traces of original case colors, sharp engraving, some small dings, and most of the original bright nitre blue finish on the triggers. The wood is also fine with a visible crack at the front of the forearm, worn checkering, and small dents and scratches throughout. Mechanically excellent.
