The left side of the frame is period hand-marked "40-60/NEALS." "40-60" appears again on the right side of the stock wrist and left side of the forearm as well as "60" on top of the barrel. "NEALS" is hand-marked on the stock behind the lower tang. Fitted with German silver blade and elevation adjustable sights.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The rifle retains 80% bright original high polish blue finish with the balance thinning to a brown mixed with some minor scratches and spotting. Traces of case colors remain in the protected areas. The wood is fine with a deep dent on the forearm, otherwise some minor dings and scratches and most of the finish remaining. Mechanically excellent.
