Although this set of matching pistols is unmarked, the quality of the embellishments exhibits the talents of a master craftsman. The high polished blue finished barrel features a wide band of engraved floral work at the muzzle and breech. A gold inlaid band is also at the breech. Ahead of the adjustable rear sight is a gold inlaid number "1." Fine engraved floral scrollwork is featured on the lock plate, hammer, spur trigger guard and escutcheons. The lock plate has an engraved zig zag border and the hammer striker is engraved in the likeness of a mythical creature. The pistol is equipped with a single set trigger. Except for the barrel, the metal surfaces are casehardened. The ebony half stock has a fine relief floral carving on the forend tip, left stock flat and grip area. The grip is fluted. The stock is fitted with an engraved buttcap and has a single barrel wedge. A gold inlaid monogrammed thumb shield escutcheon is surrounded by the grip carving. The presentation case is French fitted for both pistols and accessories and is lined in red felt. The interior of the case also has two compartments. The accessories include the following: ebony handle screwdriver, ebony handle nipple wrench, two ebony containers (for caps and wads), ebony mallet, double face fluted powder flask, single cavity blue finished bullet mold with sprue cutter, blue finished wad cutter marked with the number "25", ebony handle ladle, ebony cleaning rod with three attachments.
