Description:

A nearly complete Vickers Machine Gun, this example has been "deactivated" by means of discarding the right side plate and leaving everything else pretty much where it originally belonged. As none of the parts are fully supported in firing position, and the component regarded as the "receiver" per ATF guidelines is gone, this entire set is no longer a firearm, but if displayed with the left side facing outward, an observer would be hard pressed to tell. In addition to the standard blade and ladder sights, the left side is fitted with a brass support frame for an included Mark I "Lensatic" sight on a 1938 dated Mark IV base, which also has a transport case. Also included with the lot is a steam hose for the water jacket, a black painted steel ammo can labeled for Vickers-belted 303 rounds, and a green painted steel can marked "W(arrow)D/PETROLEUM SPIRIT".

Rating Definition:

Very good, incomplete with about 70% of the remaining black and green finish. The exterior shows mild wear, and the lensatic sight and base appear to be in good order. Due to the relative looseness of their installation, components are not guaranteed to remain in their current position, nor are they guaranteed to be a complete "parts kit" for a Vickers restoration project. The cans and cases show a number of dents and scuffs.
