Built on a German Mauser action with hooded, ramped beaded blade front and four leaf (one standing, three folding) fixed rear express sights, silver inlaid "Specially made for Chas. A. Heyer & Co. Nairobi" marking on top of the barrel, and gold inlaid band at the muzzle. The barrel rear of the sight base is engraved in a flowing scroll and punch dot motif, continuing onto the receiver with a gold inlaid lion on the left receiver rail in a savanna scene. The trigger guard and floorplate are similarly engraved with a relief chiselled, gold inlaid male lion on the floorplate. The receiver is fitted with a Redfield swivel scope base and Carl Zeiss DIAVARI-C 3-9x36 scope. Extra fancy multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with blue steel grip cap, raised cheekpiece, and solid rubber recoil pad.

Fine as professionally embellished and refinished with 95% plus blue finish, some areas of light pitting visible under the blue, plum patina on the receiver and bolt handle, and sharp engraving. The wood is also fine with crisp checkering, and scattered small dings. Mechanically excellent. Scope is very good with some small scratches, and clear optics.
