The included Colt factory letter identifies this revolver by its serial number as an experimental prototype in nickel finish kept by the Colt factory. The letter also confirms the caliber, 6" solid rib barrel with standard markings, blue sights, checkered varnished wraparound grips with gold-plated Rampant Colt medallion inlays and the Rampant Colt/V logo marked on the side plate. The current experimental prototype serial number has been stamped over the original serial on the frame and crane. Equipped with blade front sight with insert and adjustable rear sight outlined in white.

Excellent. The revolver retains 99% original nickel finish with speckling overall and a noticeable cylinder drag line. The grips are also excellent with most of the varnish remaining and a few minor handling marks. The checkering is crisp.
