This is a very good example of a Swiss ZFK 31/55 sniper rifle. This model was introduced in the mid-1950s as a sniper derivative of the K31 rifle. Approximately 4,200 were manufactured by the Bern factory under contracted to the Swiss Government. They were used in military service until they were replaced by SIG 550 semi-automatic sniper rifles. These have been recently imported into the United States by several companies/individuals on a limited basis. These rifles feature a straight pull type action with the chamber area marked with the standard Swiss Cross inside a shield. Barrels are slightly heavier than the standard K31 rifle and feature new designed integral flash hidersmuzzle brakes with a bayonet lugs underneath with the heavily reinforced blade front sights. It is fitted with a standard tangent rear sight marked 1-15 (100-1500meters). This model has the integral scope mounting points on the left side of the receiver that is fitted with a 3.5 sniper scope. The top of the matching scope body is marked "3351 Kern Aarau/V=3.5x75". These rifles were all fitted with beech stocks and handguards with a checkered pistol grip areas and sheet metal buttplates. The stock has a front folding sheet metal bipod and side mounted leather sling. This rifle includes a blue/gray painted metal belt carrier numbered to match the scope and includes an original spare parts set that contains numerous spare and repair parts stored in a heavy canvas roll up bag.

Very fine with 85% of the blue finish overall with wear on the edges and high spots, the blue thinning on the exposed section of the barrel, and heavier blue/black painted finish loss on the underside of the bipod. The stock and handguard are both in very good condition with a clear markings on the sides but showing numerous small pressure dents and gouges overall on the sides of the stock from use and handling in the field. The scope has clear sharp optics, and the scope can retains 95% of its painted exterior surface.
