Introduced in 1899. 5-groove concentric rifling designed for the cordite loaded smokeless .303 cartridge adopted by the British Army in 1893. Folding rear sight graduated to 500 yards in steps on the left side of the base and a leaf graduated to 2,000 yards. Five platinum sighting lines are located on the elevation bar. With detachable 10 round box magazine, magazine cut-off on the right side of the receiver, and an integral sheet steel bolt cover. The barrel and receiver are stamped with commercial "crown/letter proofs". The right side of the butt socket is marked "B.S.A. Co." The serial number is stamped on the right side of the receiver, barrel, and on the back of the bolt handle. Full length stock with brass buttplate with trap.

Fine. 50% original blue finish remains with areas of a mottled brown/gray patina, scattered nicks and dings throughout, and some areas of a smooth brown oxidation. The wood is also fine with dings and dents throughout, some visible fill in the forend, and slightly loose buttstock. Mechanically excellent.
