Manufactured in 1961. The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver with a 6 inch barrel, blue finish, and checkered walnut target grips when it was shipped to Charles Greenblatt Inc, New York City on June 30. 1961. Consignor notes state that this first year production revolver was possibly a display gun at Greenblatt. It has standard S&W markings, ramp front and adjustable square notch rear sights, and matching numbers on the butt, yoke and ejector. The S&W target grips are unnumbered. The S&W blue box is numbered to the gun. Comes with 6 .22LR chamber inserts.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% original blue finish showing some light holster type wear on the barrel and a light cylinder drag line. Nearly all original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are also excellent with limited evidence of handling and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good showing moderate edge wear.
