Description:

20,202 2nd Model or "Model 1863" Maynard carbines were manufactured between 1863-65. They were among the finest breech loaders of the war, and the Maynard design was of the few Civil War weapons to remain popular in the post-war era after being adapted for use with metallic cartridges. Confederate troops were particularly fond of the Maynards because the brass cases could be easily reloaded and reused which save valuable resource. This carbine has the standard markings and features.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 90% original blue finish, 40% plus original case colors, and moderate surface oxidation. One of the stock screws is incorrect and needs proper one installed. The stock has surface wear at the cartouche and scattered dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
