Description:

Colt's Pocket Model proved to be the most popular Colt percussion revolver and the longest produced. It was manufactured from the late 1840s until the early 1870s. Thousands were carried as private sidearms by American soldiers and lawmen. Longer barreled examples like this were likely more popular with soldiers, pioneers, and policemen. This 1862 manufactured 5-shot example has a small, brass cone front sight, the "NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA" barrel address, matching serial numbers other than the wedge, "7" on the left side of the trigger guard, and standard other markings and features.

Rating Definition:

Fine overall with 75% vibrant original case colors, 70% original blue finish on the barrel, cylinder is brown patina, 30% original silver plating, gray and brown patina on the balance of the steel, light aged patina on the brass and silver, distinct markings, half of the original varnish remaining on the fine grip, mild handling wear, mostly solid cylinder safety pins, and light scratches and dings. Mechanically fine.
