Description:

8,000 Second Model Maynard carbines were purchased by the U.S. government in 1863 to 1865 for use during the Civil War. Captured Maynards and the limited numbers purchased before the war were popular with Confederate troops. This early example has the standard markings and features. The stock has two boxed cartouches. Includes several modern Maynard cartridge cases.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus with 70% plus original blue finish, traces of case colors on action, minor spotting, recrowned muzzle, mild scratches and edge wear, scrapes and dings on the stock, and crisp markings. The stock is very good with legible cartouche. Mechanically fine.
