.38 Colt is a scarce chambering; only 1,011 pre-World War I Single Action Army revolvers were manufactured in this caliber. Manufactured in 1908 with standard markings and features and then subsequently engraved many years later with primarily scrollwork engraving with punched backgrounds and plated with silver. Many of the smaller parts, such as the hammer, trigger, and cylinder pin, were also gold washed over the silver. The front of the frame below the cylinder pin is signed with an intertwined "CB" by Charlie Baker of Arizona. There is a "J.O. APLAN" mark under the right grip (collector/dealer James O. Aplan).
