The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver with a 4 3/4 inch barrel in .45 caliber, blue finish and type of stocks not listed when shipped to Simmons Hardware Co., St. Louis on September 1, 1884. Two-line barrel address, three-line patent dates frame marking, and "45 CAL" on the trigger guard. Matching numbers on the frame, barrel, front strap and back strap.

Very good plus, retaining 25% original blue finish and traces of original case colors with the balance a mottled gray patina. The grips are fine showing high edge wear, scattered minor handling marks and half of the original finish remaining. Mechanically fine.
