World War II U.S. Army Contract Stevens Model 620 Slide Action Trench Shotgun

Manufactured on contract, the Stevens 620 was used by the U.S. Army and Marine Corps from World War II up to Vietnam. This example falls in the 2nd range of U.S. WWII Model 620 shotguns. A single brass bead sight is installed on the bayonet lug, with a six-hole heat shield, the three line Chicopee Falls address on the right side of the barrel ahead of the "P/flaming bomb" stamps and the gauge and 2 3/4 inch chamber markings on the left. The "P" and bomb are repeated on the left side of the receiver, with "MODEL 620" and "U.S." further to the back, and the serial number and "M/S" on the underside ahead of the trigger guard. Fitted with a smooth round forearm and pistol grip stock, the latter fitted with a sling swivel and a serrated buttplate, with a green canvas sling and a 13 3/4 inch length of pull.

ConditionVery fine, with 85% plus of the original blue finish, showing a plum patina on the bayonet lug, brown/gray on the magazine tube, and some mild wear and handling marks overall. The stock is also very fine, with some scattered dings and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.
