Manufactured in February of 1942, this Springfield M1 Garand passed through the Birmingham Proof House, likely for delivery to Great Britain as part of the Lend-Lease program. Blade front (locking cup complete) and rear peep sights, with a "BATTLE RANGE" elevation drum and locking bar. The Springfield barrel is dated "3-42", along with an assortment of Birmingham markings. Outfitted with a Springfield bolt, trigger housing, trigger guard, hammer, safety, and operating rod (no relief cut). The stock is correctly marked "S.A./G.H.S.", with a checkered buttplate.

Excellent, with 97% plus original parkerized finish, showing some mild wear and handling marks overall. A rough texture is visible on the bolt catch and gas cylinder. The stock is very fine, with a number of dents and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.
