This is a WWII production M1903A4 sniper rifle manufactured by Remington Arms Company in the first block of serial numbers. The barrel is marked "R.A./flaming bomb/6-43" which correctly lacks the front sight. The receiver is stamped with: "U.S./REMINGTON/MODEL 03-A3" on the left side and the serial number "3417451" on the right. The rifle has 1903A4 type sniper rifle bolt with the "R" mark on the underside of the bolt handle. The receiver is fitted with a late parkerized Redfield marked scope base that has been fitted with a early blue 2.5x, Weaver 330 scope commercial produced under a Government contract. It has the standard commercial markings on the nomenclature plate, and is electro-etched "TELESCOPE M73B1/SERIAL No. 9556" on the lower right side. The scope has the standard crosshair reticle. It is not marked with any Government markings. The rifle is fitted with a stamped trigger guard, barrel bands and buttplate. The rifle is fitted with a wartime pistol grip walnut stock that has been restamped on the left side with "RA/Cross-Cannon proof/FJA" with a small circled "P" proof in the pistol grip area. It comes with a M1905 leather sling marked "Milsco/1943" and a set of reproduction leather lens caps.

Very fine overall with 80% of the combination arsenal refurbished/original green colored parkerized type finish on the receiver with a light gray parkerized finish on all the other parts, except the bolt body which is blued. The very fine stock and handguard have a matching medium brown oiled finish showing only minor handling marks. The cartouches and proofs are all clear and distinct. The scope retains 95% of its original blued finish overall with clear markings with a clear optics. The scope needs some minor adjustment/repair as the reticle does not move.
