Description:

Included with this carbine is a signed letter from William T. Moore III of Moore Militaria, a Texas-based group of militaria dealers and advisors to film, television and museums. In the letter, this carbine is noted by serial number as being part of his collection and personally inspected by him. Moore notes that, aside from a loose, unmarked rear sight, he felt the carbine was in the original configuration and additionally notes that the only addition made by him was a (now absent) stock pouch. Blade front and flip rear sights, with an undated "W"/"WP" Winchester barrel, replacement unmarked Type I barrel band, flat top bolt, "W" marked recoil plate, replacement operating rod, "EW" button safety, "W" magazine catch and "12" on the underside of the milled trigger guard assembly. The stock is of high-wood configuration, with a 2-rivet handguard, "WRA/GHD" and crossed cannons on the right side, oval oiler cut, and a checkered steel buttplate. Magazine absent.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 80% of the original parkerized finish, showing a few hints of brown patina, a bit of light wear around the middle of the barrel, and some mild edge wear and handling marks overall. The locking lug region of the bolt has turned a mixed brown and gray, and the rear loosely fit, possibly replaced sight is a generally good color match for the rest of the carbine, with no visible staking marks. The lightly sanded, reoiled stock is very good, with light dents, scuffs and dark spots. Mechanically excellent.
