Description:

Manufactured in 1954 with standard markings and features with the exception of the inscription on the sides of the slide. The inscription on the right side reads "THE GENERAL GEORGE S. PATTON JR. TROPHY/PRESENTED TO/ DAVID FREEMONT ALDRICH" and the left reads "DO NOT TAKE COUNSEL OF YOUR FEARS" taken from a statement from General Patton. Brief notes accompanying the pistol suggest it was presented to a cadet at Norwich University. Further research has indeed found a cadet by that name in Norwich University publications from 1954, though there is no mention of this presentation. Includes Colt box, missing end label, with instructions and warranty card.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. 95% plus original blue and anodized finish remains with areas of edge wear, surface scratches and handling marks. The grips are also excellent with sharp checkering and some small dings. Mechanically excellent. Box is good with peeled areas re-colored to match, glue repairs, edge wear, and some corner separations.
