Dated "1889", with blade front and platinum-highlighted ladder rear sighs, bearing a set of dual arrow military acceptance/release stamps and "crown" proofs on the left side of the chamber and receiver, and the Victoria cipher over the maker's mark, date, and model marking on the right. Fitted with a smooth straight wrist stock, with a "BA&A/(arrow)WD" stamp and dual broad arrows on the right side, "M&D/897" on the left, and a flat buttplate.
