Exceptional World War II British No. 4 MKI (T) Enfield Bolt Action Sniper Rifle with Matching Scope, Matching Mount, Scope Can, Scout Sniper Telescope, and Wooden Transit Case

This is an all original, as issued example of a WWII British Enfield No. 4 MKI (T) sniper rifle that was built by Holland and Holland circa late 1944. This model was the standard British sniper rifle developed in the late 1930s and used until the early 1960s. The receiver side wall is marked "No. 4 MK I (T)", and the butt socket marked "M47C/1944/C38533/TR". It comes with an original 1945 dated sniper scope that is marked on the side of the tube: "TEL.STG.No 32 MKIII/O.S.2039 A/AK&S No. 22719/1945Broad Arrow proof". The scope also is marked with the large Red "W" indicating the scope passed the water proof testing. The mounting bracket is stamped with the matching serial number of the rifle "C38533" on the upper left side, and the rings are numbered "230" and "231" respectively on the right side. It has the standard blade front sight and tangent military rear sight, stamped/milled components, and its original matching numbered bolt assembly with the bolt head is stamped with a "0" indicating it's new. The right side of the receiver is also stamped "ENGLAND" indicating it was marked for sale outside of England. It has the correct wartime semi-pistol grip walnut stock with the standard proofmarks that is stamped with its matching serial number (C38533) on the forestock and "S51" on behind the pistol grip area, indicating conversion by Holland & Holland. The top of the wrist is correctly and deeply stamped with the matching scope serial number "22719". The buttstock is fitted with a wartime pot metal buttplate with butt trap compartment and the correct screw-on cheekpiece. The scope/rifle is complete with its original green metal scope storage can that is marked "Case STG. TEL. No. 8/B&Co." It has been stenciled with white paint on the lid with "RIFLE C38533" and on the inside of the lid it has the correct, small paper label that reads, "Rifle No. C38533/Telescope No. 22719". It also includes a set of original British issue leather lens caps that are correctly British ink stamped/proofed with "BLG. LTD 1945". Includes: an original British issue three draw Scout Sniper Telescope with its original leather storage case, straps and small spare lens container (lens not included). The scope is correctly marked "TEL. SCT. REGT. MK II.B.C & Co. LTD./14662/O.S. 126". This beautiful rifle rig is also complete with an original WWII British issue, green wooden storage/shipping container marked on the side: "Chest S.A. No 15 MkI", and the end label on the box is marked "BA 10317/EQUIPMENT No. 4/RIFLE MKI/QTY 1/X32123". Complete with a commercial leather sling.

ConditionExcellent plus, as issued with 99% of the original WWII British phosphate/black enamel exterior finish on the entire rifle showing little to no wear or handling marks. The wood components are also all in excellent like new condition with clear sharp proofs and markings. The scope and mount are also in 98% plus of their original black exterior finish with clear sharp markings on the side and excellent optics. The only noticeable wear is on the very ends of the scope tubes where the leather lens covers were in place. The complete rifle and scope rig looks like it was issued in World War II; a time capsule!
