Manufactured by Mauser in 1935, using a combination "S/42G" code on top of the receiver ring. Introduced during the early years of the Nazi Party's dominance of Germany, the code system was intended to obscure the scale and speed of German re-armament. Matching numbers are present on many components, including the bolt and the smooth pistol grip stock.
Fine, with 60% of the original blue finish, showing some areas of brown and gray patina, edge wear, and mild spotting and handling marks overall. Scattered patches of pitting are also present. The stock is good, with numerous scattered dents and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.
