Manufactured from 1976 to 1980. The factory letter states that this gun, "...was a sample and display pistol of special edition issue, kept by the Colt factory". Features fixed sights, grip safety, serrated trigger, spur hammer, slide stop, and mainspring housing, with varnished rosewood stocks with gold plated rampant Colt medallion inlays on both sides. The slide exhibits moderate scroll engraving commemorating the 175th Anniversary of Ohio statehood. The right side of the slide is engraved with an image of the Ohio State Capitol building and the Ohio State flag, with "1 of 250" marked below. The left side is similarly engraved with a picture of the State seal and a banner overhead reading, "1803 OHIO 175th ANNIVERSARY 1978", with "COLT GOVERNMENT MODEL .45 CAL" marked in smaller lettering below. Complete in original factory woodgrain box with papers/manual and Colt Industries packing list noting the order date "1/07/79" and "FOR ARCHIVES".

Excellent, 99% original finish. There are a few minor spots of thinning in the nickel finish (mainly concentrated near the rear sight) with a few dark spots on the grip safety. All else is in excellent plus condition. The box is in very good condition with typical minor edge and flap wear. An excellent conditioned pistol with great provenance for the collector.
