As confirmed by the included Colt factory letter, this pistol was an experimental pistol kept by the Colt factory. The letter also confirms caliber, barrel length, finish, and checkered wood grips. Has fixed sights, with "COLT'S GOVERNMENT MODEL" on the right side of slide and two line model marking over "9 mm LUGER CALIBER" with Rampant Colt on the left side. One line Hartford address and serial number on the rights side of frame.

Excellent. The pistol retains 97% original blue finish with a faint plum patina and some minor handling marks including some scratches on the bottom of the front grip strap. The grips are very good with a minor gash and gouge on the left panel along with a some scattered minor handling marks. Overall, the checkering is crisp.
