This pistol has no visible markings and is only engraved with a bestial face on the cock, but it is almost certainly German and dates to the second half of the 18th century. The barrel has a blade front sight and a turned girdle at the breech. The action has a grooved rear sight and has the mechanism fitted to the right side. The steel butt reservoir has a black leather covered grip and ball pommel.
