The rifle is marked "P. JAMART/RAYEUR" and "JB" on the bottom of the barrel and has "*/AI" and Liege proofs on the hammer and action. The barrel is equipped with adjustable front and rear sights and has sliding graduations on the top of the rear sight rib that is integral with the barrel. The ornate trigger guard has a palm rest and encloses large double set triggers. The stock has fine checkering and a Swiss style single hooked buttplate. We have also seen Jamart markings on double rifles and shotguns. August Jamart was the controller of proof for the Belgian Guild from 1924-1959. Includes a carved bald eagle head tool for adjusting the sights.

Very fine overall with 97% plus bright period refinished blue and dark case colors, minor marks and scratches, sharp checkering, minor marks and scratches, and some pressure marks. Mechanically excellent. Overall, a very attractive rifle.
