Description:

Manufactured directly after the 1917 military contract, these commercial Model 1917s lack U.S. property markings and are considered scarce. A check of the factory records indicate the revolver was shipped on September 24, 1931, invoiced to Commercial Hardware Co. (unknown address) and delivered to Thompson-Diggs Co., Sacramento, CA (accompanying factory letter lists the model incorrectly). Matching serial numbers on butt, cylinder and barrel.

Rating Definition:

Exceptionally fine, retaining 90% bright original high polish blue finish showing minor holster and edge wear and some gray on the back strap. Most of the original case colors remain. The grips are fine with some minor handling marks and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
