Factory Engraved Cogswell & Harrison Avant Tout Double Barrel Hammerless Shotgun

Manufactured c. 1897-1914 with cylinder chokes (marked "MAXIMUM/CHOKE), 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors, nitro proofs, a single bead sight on the smooth concave rib signed "COGSWELL & HARRISON. LTD. THE AVANT TOUT. 141 NEW BOND ST. & 226 STRAND LONDON," acanthus scrollwork on the action along with "COGSWELL & HARRISON LTD" signed on each side, tang safety with gold inlaid "SAFE" marking, checkered forearm, and checkered straight grip buttstock with serrated bare butt and 15 1/2 inch length of pull.

ConditionFine as refinished with 80% plus blue, smooth gray and brown patina on the balance, some light oxidation, minor marks and scratches, crisp checkering and engraving, slight hairline crack in the right side of the wrist at the junction with the action, small flake at the toe, and proud escutcheon. Mechanically fine.
