Ordered by the United States Marine Corps, the MC-58 was intended as a small caliber training counterpart for the M14 rifle, adapting the H&R Model 65 Reising with an appropriate stock and set of sights. Post front and Redfield peep rear sights, with USMC markings on the barrel and receiver, and a small "DoD eagle" cartouche on the front of the pistol grip. Included with the rifle is a shipping box with a matching hand-numbered label, containing a leather sling, two extra magazines in original packing material, and a 1959 dated USMC parts list.
Very fine, with 99% of the arsenal refurbished matte gray parkerized finish, showing some light spotting and handling marks overall. The stock is in equal condition, with some lighter areas near the buttplate. Mechanically excellent.
