Manufactured by Wise Lite Arms of Boyd, Texas, as a semi-automatic only reproduction of the Yugoslavian M53 general purpose machine gun. The AJM 53 utilizes a combination of new-made commercial and military surplus components, functioning in closed-bolt semi-automatic mode only. Folding blade front and adjustable tangent leaf rear sights, Yugoslavian crest on the dust cover, Wise Lite markings on the receiver (including an admonition to only use military spec ammo), folding bipod and a painted hardwood buttplate. Included with the rifle is an extra barrel (marked for 7.62x51mm), alternate top cover and feed tray, recoil booster, belt links and a green painted tripod.
