E. Whitney Signed Double Barrel Shotgun Ejector Patent Model

This patent model has a steel frame and wooden barrel group. The right side of the bottom of the barrel group is signed "E. Whitney." The model very closely matches U.S. patent number 93,149 assigned to Whitney, Gerner & Tiesing on July 27, 1869 (copy included). "The invention consists in a novel manner of operating the retractor that ejects the shells." The basic action is the same as the Whitney Arms Co. shotguns manufactured in the first half of the 1870s which included this patent date in the markings.

ConditionFine with gray patina on the metal, some minor cracks and scratches on the wood, legible Whitney marking, and functioning extractor system.
