Manufactured in 1887 as an early third model. The included factory letter confirms octagon barrel, plain trigger, receipt at the warehouse 27 February 1883, and shipment from the warehouse 22 June 1883 in order number 5098. Dovetailed blade and elevation adjustable sights on the barrel with the two-line address/patent dates marking and "MODEL 1873" is marked on the upper tang. "NORMAN S." is on the right of the forearm in brown paint. The stock is fitted with a crescent buttplate with trapdoor.
