Description:

Developed in the 1930s by Charles Manville, reportedly it was ahead of its time, using a combination of a revolver style trigger assembly and a heavy clockwork spring to drive the cylinder, an arrangement seen on such weapons as the Street Sweeper shotgun and several modern grenade and less-lethal launchers. Measuring 20 inches in overall length, with a single bead sight at the muzzle and a pair of large thumbscrews on top, which secure the barrel and drum assembly to the drive cam and trigger group. The left side of the front pistol grip bears the patent markings, with "MANVILLE MFG. CO." atop the trigger group, and a set of "M" grips. When opened, the cam separates from the cylinder, permitting access to all chambers at once. The cam assembly is equipped with individual firing pins for each chamber, allowing for continued firing in event of a jam or break in a pin. A brown/green leatherette luggage style case is included. NOTE: This arm was designed for use with muzzle dispersion loads and is not intended to fire a solid projectile.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel shows 60% of the original blue finish, with a mixed gray/brown patina, spotting and evidence of cleaning, while the remainder shows some mild spotting and scuffing overall. The grips are a bit undersized, and the case has a hole in one side, along with some general scuffs. Mechanically excellent.
