Description:

Designed by Robert Adams and manufactured by Deane, Adams & Deane around the 1851-1856. It has a bead style dovetailed front sight, "DEANE, ADAMS & DEANE LONDON." on top, a notch rear sight at the tail of the top strap, light border engraving on the frame, London proofs, "16,632./R." on the cylinder, "ADAMS' PATENT. 16632. R." on the right side of the frame, and an "*" cut into the top right of the checkered grip.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 50% of the original blue finish, gray and brown patina on the balance, some minor oxidation/pitting, mild edge wear, and crisp markings. The grip is also fine and has some mild scrapes and dings in the otherwise distinct checkering. Work is need on the trigger return spring; otherwise, it rotates the cylinder.

Description:

It has Birmingham proofs, scroll engraving, a dovetailed bead style front sight, fixed notch rear sight above the hammer slot, the serial number on the left side of the frame, and no visible maker's marks.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 60% plus original blue on the barrel, traces of original case colors, crisp engraving, minor oxidation, and gray and brown patina on the balance. The grips are also fine and have crisp checkering and minor handling and storage wear. Mechanically fine.
