Offered here is a gas sealed single action, six shot revolver. The barrel is signed "JOHN S. ROBERTS" and features engraved scrollwork at the muzzle and on the sides of the lug. The frame, fluted cylinder and grip cap feature full coverage scroll engraving. The frame has an engraved oval panel tiger scene on the left side and a mythical winged creature amongst the scrollwork on the right side. The scrollwork extends to the dolphin hammer. Each cylinder chamber is numbered and has either a "crown/V" or "crown/GP" proof. These London proofs are repeated on the underside of the barrel. The barrel is equipped with fixed sights. The grip cap has a compartment. The barrel has a high polish blue finish, and the remaining surfaces are casehardened. The near full checkered grip features a carved shell pattern at the frame juncture and a blank silver oval thumb escutcheon. The brass mounted partitioned case is lined in navy blue baize and contains a James Dixon & Sons powder flask, combination tool, bone container, oiler, wooden percussion cap container with caps, bore rod and lead rounds.
