Introduced in 1913 as Marlin's first hammerless slide action shotgun. Single bead sight on the matte-top "SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL" marked barrel with 2 3/4 inch chamber and full choke. The receiver is engraved in the C grade pattern with light scroll and punch-dot designs surrounding bird scenes of pigeons on the right and ducks on the left with spiral scroll frame borders and flower design surrounding the serial number marking. Checkered slide handle and smooth pistol grip stock with vented Red Head recoil pad. Length of pull is 13 inches.

Fine. 60% original blue finish remains with areas of edge wear, some light spotting and surface pitting, areas of mild oxidation, and a mostly brown/gray patina on the magazine tube. The revarnished wood is very good with numerous nicks and dings, well defined checkering on the slide, and ill fitting oversized recoil pad on the sanded, standard replacement buttstock. Mechanically needs adjustment, it will sometimes discharge when turning off the safety.
